In 2021, PokerHigh, a pioneer in the field of online poker and staunch advocates for poker, brought India its first ever online cash based games and tournaments (Poker for a Cause) that generated funds for charity and created India’s first online poker reality show — The Player Hunt. The former generated around $20,000 USD in a span of 6 weeks and helped some of those in need. Funds generated were used to feed and shelter over 100,000 individuals and 1500+ dogs for over 6 months.
The Player Hunt, promoted the game of skill to novices and veterans alike, busting myths and clearing misconceptions about the game, and bringing in a new breed of poker enthusiasts from all corners of India. Spanning eight episodes, the show called in participants from all over India to audition and 8 contestants were chosen. The contestants went through a series of learning the game and its eccentricities, and were pegged against one another until the last man was standing.
Hosted by the influential Singha Brothers, the eight episode series was viewed by over 10 million people online. The primary host Raanvijay Singha, known for his popular antics, won the MTV Roadies in 2004, and until 2019 was a part of the show in capacities from a gang leader to a host. An actor, television personality, VJ, and avid poker fan, he jumped on the bandwagon as soon as he read the script. His brother Harman Singha, an actor, producer, and writer co-hosted the show.
Now in its second season the show will bring with it much visibility and acclaim to CasinoCoin in India and we are proud to be associated with PokerHigh in their endeavour to bring poker to the masses.
